Quality Enhancement in Enginnering Education (QEEE)

The Committee for Reforms in Technical Education under the chairmanship of Professor Ashok Jhunjhunwala, IIT Madras, has been constituted by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD) with a mandate to bring about comprehensive reforms in technical education. The committee has started QEEE programme for engineering students after extensive study of technical education system prevailing at present and existing problem areas. One of the important concern areas is that the quality of technical education imparted in many colleges is not at par with the premier institutes. This in turn is because the colleges lack the pedagogical resources in the form of highly qualified teachers, well developed content and good lab infrastructure, that students in the premier institutes take for granted.

Our college BCET Gurdaspur has supported their endeavour and setup QEEE Live Classroom with Infrastructure as suggested by QEEE team at IIT Madras. Following faculty have been deputed to liaison with QEEE, IIT, madras, and to setup the online classroom & labs for QEEE Classes:

We are running QEEE Online classes successfully since Aug, 2014. Following courses were opted by the college:

July, 2015 to Nov, 2015 (Odd Semester):
  1. Compiler Design
  2. Basics of Design of Machine Elements
  3. The Nitty-Gritty of Processor Design-Computer Organization and Architecture
  4. Understanding Solid State Devices Made Easy
Jan, 2015 to May, 2015 (Even Semester):
  1. Convective Heat Transfer
  2. Computer Networks
  3. Designing with Combinational modules
  4. Iterative Circuits, Spoken English
Aug, 2014 to Dec, 2014 (Odd Semester):
  1. Mathmatics-I
  2. Digital Signal Processing
  3. Machine Design
  4. Data structure & Algorithms
  5. Mass trasfer, Spoken English

We are observing positive impact on students who have attended these live classes, and hope the team will provide more courses in different engineering streams.
